National Land Cover Database

National Land Cover Database (NLCD 2001) Multi-zone Download Site

NLCD 2001 products include 21 classes of Land Cover, Percent Tree Canopy and Percent Urban Imperviousness at 30 m cell resolution. Currently, products are available for the conterminous United States, with Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico planned to be available in 2008. The availability of these data will be announced on the MRLC Consortium and the USGS Land Cover Institute websites.

The 76 standard NLCD mapping zones (including Alaska) have been grouped into 15 larger zonal areas for easier distribution and download. Please click on the multi-zone area that has the landcover products needed. Any area not completed will have only values of zero as a data fill until the finished product is available in all areas. A shapefile with the standard NLCD zones as well as a mutlizone attribute is available for download here.
